I would suggest that any household gets one and uses it on a regular basis. Of course you will need to look hard and be prepared to be able to get them from wherever sells them the cheapest.

The low priced compact microwave ovens are always just as good as the more expensive ones. The thing is that it really does not matter how often you will want to use it they will always still look fantastic and you will always be able to get them for super low prices. I would say that the ones that I usually for are the classic white microwave oven, cheap combination microwave or a genius microwave. They are all great do most of them are a decent just like the 1000 watt microwave that everyone seems to be loving right now. I have found they all do the same thing so I would suggest trying to look for one with a lot of features I would suggest that you try to get one that will be able to last a long time and that you will easily be able to use over and over again. I like to use the ones that often have a dial. Of course you can get compact microwave ovens. The more you look at the better chance you have of being able to get decent ones.
